The Everscale blockchain address is a 64-bit number that holds a specific set of data. A total of 2⁶⁴ addresses are available in Everscale.

EVER tokens can be sent to any Everscale blockchain address. However, to use them afterward, a smart contract that "knows" how to do this must be deployed on that address.

The Everscale smart contract cannot be written to the blockchain at an arbitrary address.

The address where the smart contract can be deployed is calculated based on the smart contract code and a certain set of user data.

The procedure for writing a smart contract to the blockchain is called deployment, and it requires a positive token balance at the specified address to be successful.
