The seed phrase is a mnemonic phrase consisting of English words taken from a preselected dictionary. The seed phrase in Surf consists of 12 words.
The seed phrase is necessary and sufficient to access your profile and the funds on it. Therefore, it is very important to follow the security rules when using it.
When you create a Surf profile, the corresponding seed phrase and a set of keys are automatically generated for it. Both the seed phrase and the keys are securely stored on your device.
Seed phrase should be written down and kept in a safe place. In case you lose it, you'll lose access to your profile, and nobody will be able to give it back to you. Surf does not have any tools for recovering your password or private key because it DOES NOT STORE THEM! It is only users themselves who control their assets and keys (seed phrase).
If you log out of the Surf profile or uninstall the app, the corresponding seed phrase and the generated key set will be deleted from your device.
Knowing the seed phrase, you can always restore access to your profile.
